Re:Create Coalition Statement On Music Industry’s Open Letter To Change Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)

WASHINGTON—The Re:Create Coalition released the following statement in response to the music industry’s open letter to Congress to change the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA):

“As the Re:Create Coalition discussed at its Capitol Hill briefing today, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is responsible for a tremendous amount of innovation and creation on the Internet. For almost two decades, the DMCA has struck the proper balance and allowed the Internet and creativity to flourish. Efforts by the music industry to change the DMCA are misguided and would hurt creators, startups and consumers,” said Josh Lamel, Executive Director of Re:Create.
